Six-storey hybrid timber apartment building in Riga's green-belt area
This residential development combines modern architectural solutions with sustainable building practices. Located in Riga's green-belt area, the six-storey apartment building is designed as a hybrid timber structure: the first two floors are constructed using conventional reinforced concrete, ensuring stability and durability, while the upper four floors are built with load-bearing cross-laminated timber (CLT) panels, highlighting the advantages of renewable materials in multi-storey housing.
The project emphasizes both functionality and community. In addition to spacious apartments, the building offers a communal rooftop terrace, creating a shared space for relaxation, social gatherings, and enjoying views of the surrounding greenery.
Structural engineering design for the CLT elements has been developed by Acetra (RS), ensuring precise integration of timber technology with the overall hybrid construction concept by SIA Building Construction Design.
Interior design by Ieva Leja.
The project is scheduled for implementation in 2026 and represents a step forward in advancing sustainable multi-storey residential architecture in Latvia.
