WINE FACTORY
Gebele Mountain Winery (Qabala), Azerbaijan
Client: Private
Program: Mountain winery and production facilities
Completion: 2020 (concept)
Project Description:
The Gebele Mountain Winery combines wine production with a tourism-focused experience, creating a unique destination in Azerbaijan's scenic mountains. The winery masterplan integrates vineyards for both production and visitor presentation, allowing guests to walk through different grape varieties grown in major regions of Azerbaijan. Along the vineyard path, visitors encounter themed wine tasting pavilions, including areas dedicated to dessert wines, mountain wines, and other specialties.
The site is located in an industrial landscape partially hidden from the main road, yet framed by dramatic mountain panoramas, offering an undiscovered natural aesthetic. Its strategic location near major roads, Gabala Airport, and planned railway infrastructure, combined with potential attractions such as a cable car with 360° viewpoints, a riverside hotel, biogarden, and pit stops, positions the winery as a regional tourism hub.
The winery itself emphasizes distinct mountain character to differentiate it from other wine production sites in Azerbaijan. The masterplan ensures a clear organizational structure for the wine and spirits production facilities, avoiding chaotic development while optimizing workflow and visitor circulation.
Performance & ROI Highlights:
-
Space Optimization: Masterplan organizes production and visitor areas efficiently to maximize functionality and experiential value.
-
Material Efficiency: Durable, low-maintenance materials minimize lifecycle costs and maintenance requirements.
-
Energy Performance: Sustainable strategies and natural finishes enhance efficiency and environmental performance.
-
User Experience: Visitors enjoy an immersive, scenic, and educational wine experience, while wine tourists and experts benefit from a well-ordered, high-quality production environment.
Strategic Value:
Gebele Mountain Winery demonstrates how production efficiency, tourism experience, and aesthetic integration can coexist, creating a distinctive and regionally significant wine destination that attracts visitors and potential investors alike.
